English football has had a lot of teams that are successful for many years. Certain clubs are very consistent in ensuring that they stay relevant and keep winning trophies regardless of which players they get and which manager is running things.
Here are the four most successful clubs in the history of English football.
4. Chelsea, 24 Trophies
Although Chelsea is a team that has recently started winning titles, they have quite made up for it by having caught up to the highest teams. Chelsea has six league titles and one Champions League title to their name.
However, they have been ever present in European competitions, winning two Cup Winner’s Cup titles as well as two UEFA Cup/Europa League trophies, to require their tally to 24.
3. Arsenal, 30 Trophies
Arsenal is one amongst the highest three clubs in England football that has continuously been at the highest since they were promoted to the primary Division. Though the Gunners are presently nowhere near winning the league, they manage to win an FA Cup every now then.
Arsenal has 13 league titles and FA Cups and 2 European cups, their total trophy count is 30.
2. Manchester United, 42 Trophies
It was not too way back that Manchester United was fighting for the league title every season. Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, they need floundering about, but that has not stopped them from winning other trophies, more recently being the FA Cup and therefore the Europa League.
Their tally of 20 league titles is that the highest in England and that they are joint first in terms of total trophies won – at 42.
1. Liverpool, 42 Trophies
Liverpool was recently the second within the list, but their Champions League trophy not only puts an end to their title drought but also puts them on par with hated rivals Manchester United in terms of who is that the most successful. Despite the fact that they have only 18 league titles, they have been significantly more successful in Europe, helping them reach 42 trophies overall.
